At Honest Eggs Co. we are first and foremost soil farmers. We don’t have all the answers, but together with our chickens, and method of regenerative farming, we are working towards building soil volume and the quality of the soil microbiome. It shows in our pastures. How critical is that? We think it’s EVERYTHING. There are often more microorganisms in a handful of soil than there are people on this planet. The more the world learns about the soil microbiome, the better our decisions will be as nations and individuals.

Fun fact: About 70% of our eggs are 800g or larger! That’s far larger than the free range avg. of 700g.

But why? Well, unlike free range farming where the feed is tightly controlled, with regenerative egg farming, sheds are moved weekly to fresh pastures. This leads to an abundance of the hens` natural diet of worms, insects and grains/seeds. Their natural diet is rich in thousands of critical enzymes, which improves their digestion and the overall health of the bird, leading to improved nutrient uptake and bigger eggs. One of the key reasons humans are told to eat as much raw wholefoods as possible is because of the enzyme content. What’s good for us is also good for the chooks. ☺️

We could seek to comply with the rest of the industry and reduce our egg size, but that would mean sacrificing all the downstream benefits of regenerative egg farming – like building the micro-biome of our soil and eliminating fertiliser usage.

We wanted to share with all you Honest Eggers out there that our campaign Fitchix has been showered with accolades at the prestigious Cannes Lions advertising awards in France, taking home an eggcredible Gold 🏆, 4 x Silvers 🥈and a Bronze🥉! On top of that it has also scooped 6 x Clio Health awards, 2 x Andys, and 2 x D&AD awards!!! (for the uninitiated these are all prestigious creative awards in the advertising industry).

Not a bad haul for a small regional family farming business that 7 years ago was but a school project for one of the founders` daughters…

This would not be possible without the dedicated and talented team @vmlyr_anz (pictured), who poured their hearts into crafting this extraordinary campaign. Great minds. Great creatives. Great people. Great smiles. And, most importantly, our amazing community of Honest Eggs Co. supporters who have a deep understanding of where their produce comes from and vote with their shopping dollars every single week to create change in the egg industry one step at a time.

We`re excited to announce the Good Egg Awards!!! But why? Well…we`ve been contemplating the negativity in our world fuelled by the few, when there are so many stories of hope and positivity around us that we see every day.
